The Casual Electrocution of Strangers: the story behind the title

The idea for The Casual Electrocution of Strangers came inadvertently from a Twitter conversation started by crime novelist and short story writer Val McDermid. Here’s the gist of it:

In the DMs, the ideas started flying. What would twelve different writers make of such a title? What kind of wonderful stories might be told? Through sheer luck, we realised, we had the combined skills to pull together an ebook anthology. It took a few months of talking and planning and, well, procrastinating (we’re writers, after all!), but finally we took a collective deep breath and the Literary Salmon started swimming.
